Ivor_E_Tower Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Aha! Not far away. My last job was behind the Boots warehouse which closed recently. Is it still there or has it been turned into a housing estate or something else yet? Quote

Guest andrew333 Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I have a VDO Dayton 4200 with built in TMC in a VW Sharan 1.9tdi 1999 Vreg it is OK and getting better as the new maps come out. Does anyone know if it will fit in a new Galaxy Ghia as I am thinking of getting one soon and wouldn't like to lose my sat nav. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 It should fit OK but you will need a dashboard adapter plate or two. Standard Ford units are DIN-and-a-half (or thereabouts) whereas surround for the Ford Satnav system and dash on Sharan and Alhambra leave a double-DIN hole in the dash. The Ford double-DIN surround only costs a few quid and the panels to cover the gap are a little bit pricey from what I've seen (about Quote
Guest andrew333 Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 :D Thanks Ivor I think my 4200 is just din size would that still mean there is a part available to cover the other hole? Also I had no idea that there was a facelifted model due in December any idea where the spec could be found? I might wait until then it might have something new that I like. Regards Andrew. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 You can get blanking plated for full DIN hole and remainder of hole from Ford audio units - try Halfords or car audio places.Faelifetd Galaxy - a link was posted here from the Frankfurt motor show a few weeks back. Autocar (I'm a subscriber) and Auto Express have carried short statements to the effect that Galaxy and Sharan are being facelifted - no news yet on Alhambra. Sharan will get for instance side indicator repeaters in the door mirrors whereas Gal retains front wing versions. Quote
